As usual, I was taking a train ride and something pop-up in my mind. You know! like suddenly you imagine things. The scene that appeared in my mind was about the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader" about Aslan "The Lion" telling to Lucy "fight the darkness in you and then the darkness outside".
Most of the time I was fighting the darkness in me called the resistance. It stops whatever things I wanted to do. Distraction after distraction in the form of procrastination, TV, inner voice and much more. Just yesterday I set my alarm clock to 6am so that some work can be done …. Damn! Resistance was there … trying to overtake me!
Telling me " Stop Man!" Go to sleep, have a good rest … why wake-up so early. You can wake-up later and do your stuff.
Because of my inner will-power to wake-up, I woke-up at 6.15am. I am sure you too have come across such incidence.
How did I get the will-power?
In the beginning, it was not easy to overcome resistance but when things happen as you plan … Yahoo! What an awesome day it will be after accomplishing the task.
The change in me happen after reading Steven Pressfield book "The War Of Art" and this author has open up a new window in my life and he shares how to fight resistance in you. One of his sayings in his book
"Resistance is the most toxic force on the planet. It is the root of more unhappiness than poverty, disease and erectile dysfunction. Resistance deforms our spirit, it stunts us and makes us less than we are and were born to be.
If you believe in God, you must declare Resistance evil, for it prevents us from achieving the life God intended when He endowed each of us with our own unique genius."
The enemy is in front of you … Fight resistance to be a better person and live life to the fullest.
